The kids started school the day after Labor Day. Alyson and Kourtney were pretty excited to go back and Ellary could hardly wait to go to kindergarten. We contnued the tradition and Ellary wore the dress I wore for the first day of kindergarten as did Aly and Kourtney. Then even though Keegan's speech phonology class isn't really considered preschool, Keegan was happy we pretended it was. (He gets to ride a school bus and take a lunch twice a week so it is quite easy to say it is preschool.)
The big girls are now 5th and 4th graders respectfullyand both have just one year of elementary school left then they will begin middle school together as 5th grade will be moved there.
So all the kids are growing up including the little guys. And everyone is happy. While some patents are crying because their children are beginning new chapters in their lives away from home, Kris and I are celebrating it. We are excited to see the progress our kiddos are making. Now when Joel begins kindergarten I believe that will be a very different story...Not only will that mean Joel is beginning a new phase of life, but so will Kris and I as parents with no children at home and having two daughters in high school. Wow! Now that is crazy to think about!
