Our Michigan Home

Here are some pictures of our home at the request of some of our family and friends. The first two were taken last fall when the house was originally put on the market. The trees are lush and green now and the bushes near the front door are tall and green as well.

Don't let the fence behind our house fool you. The property line goes back farther. These trees are on the north east side of our property line. This is a picture of Kris mowing the lawn. It takes about two and half hours now instead of just one. He would like a riding lawn mower next spring. This is the current view of the nature preserve directly behind our home that we liked most about the house when we were first looking at it.
This is a picture of the girls in our living room just before bed. These windows are east facing so we have a lot of light filtering through them in the morning.
We are excited to use our living room fireplace in the winter. There is another one in the basement.
This is looking back from the living room windows toward the entry way and the upstairs. Woof! What a set of stairs (16 steps!)
We love the kitchen. Too bad I am not a better cook. But I am trying harder now that I have more counter top and cupboard space than I know what to do with. The girls like to eat at the counter in the mornings or afternoons especially when I am doing dishes in the kitchen. This is the eat in nook. We usually have lunch and dinner here, unless it is Sunday or we have friends over to eat. Then we eat in the formal dining room.

We found this dining room set off craigslist and have enjoyed having a more formal space for when guests come over to eat (so far the missionaries and several families we are getting to know from our ward).

It's been nice having a designated office area. It is just across from the dining room and off of the entry way. It has a glass door and you can just about holler from this room and be able to be heard anywhere in the house (good for when you are a mom of three and they are supposedly having quiet time while you blog!)
Alyson really likes her room. The bed was given to us by a professor at IU and her dressers and desk used to be mine when I was a little girl. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Koco's room was the first to be all set up. We went without our furniture for about a week when we first moved in. And since Kourtney graduated from a toddler bed and needed some new furniture of her own anyways, we found this bunk bed combo on Craigslist in East Lansing (great place to get whatever you are looking for at usually great prices-we are OK that things are generally a little worn). With two bunk beds we'd better have more children, right?

Ellary's room is almost finished (sew some valances and hang a few pictures), but there is no rush as she is still sleeping in our room. I love her room because it is so bright and clean.
Some areas of the house that you have not seen are the master bedroom, and the finished basement. Please, if you are coming through the area or at least within a few hours of us, call us, come stay. There's a bedroom in the basement and we always enjoy having friends visit us!

We are so excited to be living in Michigan and we feel so blessed that we are to this stage in our lives. We love our home and the area we live in. We could never thank Heavenly Father enough!
