We took Ellary to the doctor on Tuesday. They removed her splint, cleaned the pins, took some xrays, and then put a blue cast on her arm. She was a little alarmed by the pins sticking out of her skin and uncomfortable when they had to place her arm in different positions for the xrays. After lollipop bribery, Ellary's nerves settlef. Otherwise she did a great job!
Ellary will be in this cast for 2 weeks. Then they will take the cast off, clean the pins again, and recast her arm. Then one week following her new cast, she will get her cast taken off and the pins pulled out. The doctor thinks her arm is healing very quickly but may need some physical therapy afteyr her cast is removed. We will see. Kris and I took Ellary to Orange Leaf for some frozen yogurt afterward. That made her very happy!
Kris and I are glad that Ellary can start the new school year without a cast and hope that she will take it easy at school.
